At 11 Rugs Gallery, we stand behind the artistry and durability of our handmade collections. Because every handmade rug is a unique work of art, we provide specialized protection and authentication for your investment.
1. The 11 Rugs E-Certificate
For every qualifying handmade rug purchased, the Supplier (11 Rugs Gallery) issues a digital E-Certificate of Authenticity and Valuation.
-
Proof of Value: This certificate serves as official documentation of the rug’s origin, material composition, and retail replacement value.
-
Issuer: The certificate is issued directly by 11 Rugs Gallery as the authorized specialist.
-
Insurance Support: This document is designed to be submitted to your household or business insurance provider to ensure the item is correctly specified on your policy.
2. “Covered Disaster” Protection
We understand that handmade rugs are high-value assets. Our warranty and E-Certificate provide the basis for a Full Amount Claim in the event of a total loss caused by a “Covered Disaster.”
-
Full Value Recovery: In the event of a covered disaster (such as fire, flood, or catastrophic structural collapse at the registered delivery address), the E-Certificate acts as a guaranteed valuation.
-
Claims Process: The Customer can use the E-Certificate to claim the full purchase amount from their insurance provider.
-
Supplier Support: In the event of such a disaster, 11 Rugs Gallery will assist the Customer or their insurer by providing duplicate records and verification of the rug’s value to facilitate a smooth claims process.
3. Limited Craftsmanship Warranty
In addition to disaster protection, 11 Rugs Gallery warrants that all handmade rugs are free from structural manufacturing defects for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery.
-
What is Covered: Unravelling of original bindings, structural integrity of the weave, and significant dye bleeding (under normal dry conditions).
-
What is NOT Covered: * “Perfectly Imperfect” Traits: Slight variations in colour, shading (abrash), or minor size deviations are inherent characteristics of handmade rugs and are not considered defects.
-
Wear and Tear: Fading due to direct sunlight, pilling (shedding), or damage from pets.
-
Improper Care: Damage caused by professional cleaning with harsh chemicals or home washing.
-
High Traffic: Use of the rug in high-traffic areas without a proper anti-slip underlay.
-
4. How to Log a Warranty Claim
If you believe your handmade rug has a structural defect:
-
Email info@11rugsgallery.co.za with your Order Number and a copy of your E-Certificate.
-
Attach clear photographs of the area of concern.
-
Our specialists will review the images. If a defect is confirmed, we will arrange for the repair or replacement of the rug at our discretion.
5. Important Maintenance Requirement
To maintain the validity of your warranty and the value reflected in your E-Certificate, we recommend:
-
Rotating your rug 180° every 6 months to ensure even wear.
-
Using a high-quality rug underlay to protect the foundation of the weave.
-
Immediate blotting (not rubbing) of any spills.
